Situation report
It is already here.
Untegrity is spreading faster than any outbreak on record. It needs no contact, no carrier, and no passport. It passes from person to person through example, convenience, and silence. Every case makes the next one easier.
Self-screening
You may be infected or at risk of untegrity if any of the following are true:
If you read this list and thought of someone else first, please read it again.
Transmission
It starts small. It does not stay small.
Untegrity begins at the personal level: a convenient silence, a small lie, a value set aside for a paycheck or a pleasant afternoon. In a single person the signs are subtle and easy to miss. But it travels covertly, carried in small ways by growing numbers of people. Small quickly scales to be massive.
Humanity
Trust erodes between people. Relationships hollow out. Kindness becomes a performance.
Socioeconomics
Gain is placed above people. Inequality grows when everyone is "just doing their job".
Climate
Harm is ignored when it is someone else's problem, someone else's land, someone else's future.
Politics
Truth becomes negotiable. Values shift with the wind. Leaders reflect the condition of those who choose them.
Families
Children inherit it early, learning to look good rather than to be good.
Workplaces
Office politics reward the loudest, not the most honest. Credit is taken upward and blame is passed down.
Online life
Social media turns attention into currency. Image is curated, honesty becomes a liability, and outrage replaces conversation.
Travel
Money abroad becomes power. The people who serve become scenery, and a week of volunteering becomes a photo shoot.
Relationships
Love is kept for the house, the lifestyle, and the fear of starting over. Children learn that this is what love looks like.
Self-help
The lost sell maps. Coaching, courses and frameworks multiply while the lives behind them stay unexamined.
Public safety
When enough people look away, harm becomes routine. "It's the law" and "not my department" end the questions conscience should ask.
All things
Nothing lies outside its reach. Every system is made of people, and every person is exposed.

Critical warning
The most dangerous symptom is believing you don't have it.
Most people can easily convince themselves they are not infected. Carriers are experts at rationalising their symptoms as normal, as harmless, as no worse than anyone else.
"Everyone does it." "It's not a big deal." "I'm no worse than anyone else."
This is what makes untegrity so pervasive, so hidden, so fast-travelling and so dangerous. It does not feel like an illness from the inside. It feels like being reasonable.
Recommended protocol
What you can do today
- Assume exposure. Nobody is immune. Screening begins with the honest possibility that you are a carrier.
- Notice the small things. The silences, the shortcuts, the moments when what you value and what you do part ways.
- Say the true thing. Out loud, kindly, even when it is uncomfortable.
- Ask questions. Curiosity is the strongest known treatment.
- Tell someone. Integrity spreads the same way untegrity does: one person at a time.

Questions and answers
About untegrity
What is untegrity?
Untegrity is the opposite of integrity: the condition of acting without it, when what a person values, says, and does stop matching. It begins with small compromises that come to feel normal.
How does untegrity spread?
Through example, convenience, and silence. Every small compromise makes the next one easier, for the person who makes it and for everyone who watches it go unchallenged.
What are the symptoms of untegrity?
The self-screening above rotates through well over a hundred signs, from conflict avoidance and blaming others to office politics, careless travel, relationships kept for money, and life coaching from people who feel lost. Most are easy to excuse, which is the point.
Who is at risk?
Everyone. The most reliable sign of infection is the belief that you are immune, and most carriers are experts at calling their symptoms normal or no worse than anyone else's.
What does integrity have to do with climate, politics, and inequality?
Every system is made of people. When enough people trade their values for comfort, gain, or approval, the results show up at scale: in elections, in workplaces, in the climate, and in who gets left behind.
Is there a cure?
Integrity. It is built the same way untegrity spreads: one honest choice at a time. Notice the small things, say the true thing, ask questions, and tell someone.
What is the antidote, and where do I get it?
The antidote is kindness, practiced on purpose, and it is available at Random Acts Club (randomactsclub.org). It is a movement of kindness with one simple idea: look for a chance to be kind, then take it. Its three steps are notice, act, and let it go, ideally without anyone knowing it was you. There is nothing to join and no sign-up. The site has ideas for small acts, guides to kindness and giving, printable cards to leave behind, and ways to share a kindness, ask for one, or sponsor one.
